[Jesus] said to them, ‘When you pray, say:
Father, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us.
And do not bring us to the time of trial.’
For the next two weeks, we will contemplate this bit of scripture known as the Lord's Prayer. I would like to introduce you to Aaron Niequist, author and worship leader. His podcast, The Eternal Current, is based off his recent book by the same name. In his book, he explores how we are invited to do more than believe in Christ, but also to practice our faith. He helps listeners grow spiritually through modern and ancient faith practices.
Beginning in July, he started a series on the Lord's Prayer with each episode contemplating a different line of the prayer. This week, I encourage you to listen to his reflection and discussion on the first two words, "Our Father" with historian, scholar and theologian Diana Butler Bass.
